Britton
for Rockville City Council |
Thank
you for allowing me to serve you as your Councilmember for the past
two years.
I remain excited and proud to be part of this wonderful democratic
exercise - City of Rockville government. I love Rockville and have
devoted a significant portion of my time since I first became a
Rockville resident to civic and community activities. (Please click

I look forward to a lively, thoughtful and respectful discourse
on issues important to Rockville throughout this campaign with my
fellow candidates, all of whom deserve thanks for their civic commitment.
Throughout the past two years, I have applied my proven analytical
skills, my expertise in environmental, land use and zoning issues,
and my experience and proficiency in fiscal and budgetary management
to the myriad issues, and public policy discussions that have come
before the Mayor and Council. To achieve our shared goal of a better
Rockville, I have
- Imposed
strict requirements on all development to ensure the integrity
of our residential neighborhoods
- Enacted
zoning code provisions to ensure that development satisfies
the highest possible health and environmental standards
- Focused
on pedestrian and bicycle access and safety through a “pedestrian
first” approach to development and transportation projects
with enhancement of our pedestrian infrastructure such as
state-of-the-art pedestrian crossing signals
- Supported
improvements of Rockville’s water and storm water management
infrastructure
- Initiated
the Buy Rockville campaign to promote and stabilize Rockville’s
existing local businesses
- Promoted
increased interaction among Rockville’s Boards and Commissions
to develop the best programs and facilities for the City
- Pushed
for the construction of recreational equipment for challenged
users in the newest of Rockville’s parks and recreation
sites
